An Overview of On/Offboarding Best Practices Utilised in the Entertainment Sector for the Improvement of XR Location-Based Experiences
摘要
In this contribution, James Simpson demonstrates that, compared to other media and entertainment practitioners, XR LBEs (Extended Reality Location-Based Experiences) have been underutilising or omitting potentially beneficial practices around the onboarding and offboarding of audiences and participants in their work. His article outlines examples that the author considers good practice from other experience sectors, including theatre, cinema, music events, theme parks, sporting events and immersive theatre. The author concludes the chapter by proposing a selection of “best practice” advice to readers in the hope that it brings attention to the wealth of knowledge that can be gleaned from other entertainment sectors to the benefit of XR.
