This chapter discusses the application of NVivo in mixed methods research, highlighting how the software can integrate both qualitative and quantitative data. Being a qualitative research tool, the possibilities of NVivo to do quantitative analysis are limited if not absent (except for some graphing). However, NVivo allows the coding of open questions from surveys and exports this coded data back to quantitative datasets. As such, NVivo helps to integrate both methodologies. After the discussion on importing surveys, the chapter shows how data in survey databases can be coded (and auto-coded) and queried.
