The article focuses on (cross-border) civil procedure relating to non-recognized states, recognition of judicial awards, the treatment of legal regulation and recognition of documents with a specific focus on individuals from a Russian perspective. It gives a broad overview on legal sources and respective legal practice and illuminates the notarial practice with regard to non-recognized states on the part of the Russian Federation. The article concludes with suggestions and recommendations.
