However, there have been limitations on the availability of up-to-date, complete and reliable basin-wide soil spatial informationSoil spatial information for the Abbay basinAbbay Basin. SoilSoil data for the basin have come from obsolete sources. Even the recent information generated by soilSoil profile-based studies is fragmented and hardly accessible or require harmonization, processing, and synthesis to meet coherent and up-to-date basin-wide soilSoil data demands. This chapter presents a reviewed, synthesized, and updated wall-to-wall soil spatial informationSoil spatial information and knowledge of the basin. In addition, existing soil spatial informationSoil spatial information and legacy topsoil properties and nutrient mapping studies were reviewed and synthesized. This is believed to have tremendous potential for targeting soilSoil and land managementLand management options and boosting agricultural productivity. The synthesized soil spatial informationSoil spatial information in this chapter will lay a foundation for developing content complete 3D gridded soil spatial informationSoil spatial information compatible with modelingModelling applications in the Abbay basinAbbay Basin.
