Using information systems applications has drastically improved resource allocation efficiency, cut manufacturing costs, and increased demand and investment across all economic sectors. As a result, adopting information systems in developing countries is very important in the digital era to reduce the digital divide. This systematic literature review (SLR) seeks to identify the factors influencing the effective adoption and continued use of information systems applications in developing countries. The results identified the following factors: technology and infrastructure constraints, economic aspects, organizational aspects, environmental issues, social and cultural impediments, security and privacy issues, educational issues, and the system's usability. This review emphasizes the importance of a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to addressing the problems highlighted. As a result, it sets the path for future study, policy creation, and practical techniques to leverage the benefits of information systems to drive growth in these regions.
