The paper responds to ‘sustainabilities’ that are situated, that create ‘models of development’ to revoke historical and material practices of the past that affect eco-tourism in the Global South. Historicising the evolution of ‘Platformisation’ and ‘Digital Infrastructure’ in improving living conditions, raise public consciousness around e-entrepreneurial ventures and resolve problems to create digital solutions, the paper explores the nexus between human materiality and discursivity in relation with assemblages of non-human beings (technologies and animals, plants, fungi, etc. that steer sustainable development routing it to SDGs that are locale specific. Drawing on models of AES in the region of Karnataka the paper explores the implications of ‘Datafication’ and ‘Platforming’ in tourism and hospitality ventures.
