Types of heat exchangers for heating process streams, evaporation, condensers were discussed. Process design methodology of few heat exchangers with and without phase change were discussed and is illustrated through examples with all three steps, collection of data, method of using appropriate equations for estimation of heat-transfer coefficient and optimisation for heat exchangers, evaporators, reboilers, condensers, and triple effect evaporators.
