Quality or performance measures are increasingly being developed for gastrointestinal endoscopy. The motivation for doing this is to maximize success and improve outcomes for endoscopic procedures for quality improvement. Capsule endoscopy and device-assisted enteroscopy are relatively new procedures that also lend themselves to quality indicators. As a guidance to assess performance, ESGE and ASGE have recently developed quality guidelines for small bowel capsule endoscopy and for device-assisted enteroscopy. The method of development is described, and the parameters are discussed briefly. Considerations regarding gastric and colonic capsule endoscopy are included and a discussion of future needs is elaborated.

摘要
