Combining Price Indexes and Fuzzy Clustering to Measure Satisfaction in Niche Tourism Destinations
摘要
Niche tourism is an expanding global industry with unique and customized experiences catering to specific market segments. Accommodation facilities are pivotal in accommodating and catering to niche tourists, providing personalized and tailored experiences. A two-step procedure is proposed to compare satisfaction levels across accommodation options based on Booking.com service scores. This approach relies on i) the Country Product Dummy index and ii) a Fuzzy clustering method for indirect relational data. As a case study for this methodology, accommodation facilities in the Lower Aosta Valley are examined, serving as a notable example of a niche tourism destination in Italy.
