This study investigates the diversification of non-profit institutions across Italian provinces using the Economic Complexity framework. We examine the distribution and diversity of these organizations at the provincial level, utilizing official Italian registries. Employing the Economic Fitness and Complexity (EFC) algorithm, we rank provinces based on their territorial capabilities and diversity. Our findings reveal a disparity between provinces’ rankings based on the number of institutions and their diversification, highlighting variations in service quality across territories. This research offers insights into the potential future development of the third sector within provinces, using non-profit sector diversity as a focal point.

摘要
