This chapter categorizes the policies that are usually adopted for the development of renewable energy as follows: (1) Incentives, education and research, (2) public finance and (3) regulations. Incentives are those that provide incentives to the customers/consumers, while public finance is more about the efforts of public or private organizations, such as banks, etc. Regulations, on the other hand, are the rules, laws, legislations, etc. designed to boost the renewable energy development, based on some pre-determined rules and regulations set by the government (or the related authority). This chapter describes different types of policies in each category. In addition to elaborating the characteristics of each policy, the chapter also guides the reader about choosing the most suitable renewable energy policy for a region.

摘要
