This section provides a technology based analysis of the adopted global RE policies. According to IRENA (Renewable energy technologies. International Renewable Energy Agency, 2024), in 2023, 36.5% of the installed RE capacity belonged to solar energy, 32.8% was hydropower (excluding pumped storage), and 24.4% was wind energy. Considering that hydropower, wind and solar installations constitute an important part of global installed RE capacity, the analyses were conducted for each one of these technologies. The results of the technology specific analysis performed for this chapter show which technologies receive the highest amount of support. The results also reveal which countries are supporting solar, wind and hydropower more.

摘要
