In the previous few chapters, the most universally used qubits have been described and some discussion of their use in communications and sensing has been given. But, these are just the most common qubits that one can find in use. There are other methods of creating qubits that are being considered, and a few of these may prove fruitful. In this chapter, we discuss a pair of these that seem to hold some promise. And, there also is some commercial interest in these.
