Deep Vee semi-planing craft concepts and features are introduced. Drag forces in calm water are described, and the effect of varying geometric parameters. Seakeeping qualities of Deep Vee craft are discussed, and comparison made with other geometries. Motions in a seaway are introduced and the effect of geometric parameters to improve response. Manoeuvrability and stability for Deep Vee craft are discussed. The use of a semi-submerged bow or Axe bow geometry to further improve seakeeping is summarised.
