New technologies and decision tools have been widely used to reduce flood losses. These techniques are focused on collecting and analyzing information and predicting flood disaster risks. This chapter aims to provide insights into the research structure in the context of using technologies and approaches to support community flood management, utilizing bibliometric and networking analyses. It provides a broad overview about publications, authors, countries, subjects, citations, years, journals, and affiliations and highlights the current and trending dimensions in the field. In this work, the current state of using these techniques in the period 1996 to April 2023 was outlined. Current hot spots highlighted that climate change and risk assessment are the most visible concepts while research trends are turning toward topics such as resilience, green infrastructure, ecosystem services, sponge city, livelihood, strategic approach, nature-based solutions, and urbanization. The analysis reveals a growing number of published documents, with environmental science subject exerting significant influence. The International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction stands out as the primary source in the field, and funding predominantly comes from the National Science Foundation and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Articles and reviews constitute the main types of published documents, and the USA emerges as the most influential country. Thaler, T., and the University of Leeds are identified as the leading author and affiliation, respectively. Many other aspects were detailed such as assessment and management techniques, vulnerability dimensions, types of resources, floods, and associated phenomena, flood indicators, and solutions.
