Although it was Galileo (1564–1642) who made the first contributions to the dynamics, it was Isaac Newton (1643–1727) who published in 1687, one of the high works of human thought, his Pilosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica in which he laid the foundations of classical mechanics and proclaimed the fundamental laws of the movement. In bodies moving at speeds of tens or even hundreds of meters per second, such as motor vehicles or airplanes, classical mechanics is fully applicable, with the above laws being the basis for developing the theory of vehicle collisions. It is important to mention that, for example, with the help of those laws, specifically the first law and the injuries that passengers receive from a vehicle, allow to determine in which direction the vehicles were going before the collision.
