Three-Dimensional Colision Dynamics
摘要
Sometimes, the description of the possible turns of a car in the post-collision phase require the consideration of three dimensions for the development of motion equations, as will be seen in next Chapter. This situation arises when, for some reason, one or both vehicles are lifted from the plane, a situation in which two-dimensional analyses can be used as an initial approximation, but, depending on the severity of the collision, sometimes three-dimensional dynamics must be used, in which it is necessary to define the position of the vehicle at any instant, which is achieved with the help of the so-called Euler angles. Initially it is necessary to know which are the types of turns, that should be considered in an three-dimensional crash investigation, i.e.: 1. Rollover, 2. Flip and 3. Spin which we will explain briefly in this chapter. Related with this matter, the excellent content of reference 1 is highly recommended for those who want to delve deeper into this topic.
