In this chapter, the clinical features of soft tissue sarcoma and workup including imaging are described. Several methods of appropriate biopsy are outlined. A grading and staging system is provided. The surgical principles of resection and adjuvant therapy are discussed. Reconstruction is included as well as limb salvage. A separate section discusses the entity of Merkel cell carcinoma, dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, and malignant histiocytoma.
