The pathology of UV exposure as carcinogenic is discussed. The genetic syndromes that predispose to skin cancer are described as well as other factors for nonmelanotic skin cancer. Squamous cell carcinoma (SCCa) and basal cell carcinoma (BCCa) are discussed as distinct entities and treatment modalities outlined including excision. Excisional margins are characterized including Mohs micrographic surgery.
