Pathogens are critical in emergencies due to their substantial and potentially lethal impact on the public and First Responders (FRs). Waterborne pathogen outbreaks, stemming from natural events, accidents, or intentional harm, demanding novel tools for FRs to manage such incidents, including rapid pathogen sensors, secure water sampling tech, decision support, and forensic investigation tools. The PathoCERT initiative aims to enhance FRs coordination in such crises, enabling swift and precise pathogen detection, elevating situational awareness, and bolstering control measures for waterborne pathogen emergencies. PathoCERT integrates, among other tools, the PathoIMS incident management system, facilitating monitoring and coordination across FR activities. This system operates in headquarters and mobile control centers, supporting commanders and team leaders by offering incident, alarm, and resource management, along with visual information representation and reporting. PathoIMS provides a comprehensive and tailored operational view, ensuring effective waterborne pathogen incident response, the capabilities of which will be demonstrated and validated during the pilots that will be executed within the project.

摘要
