This chapter presents how immersive technologies can be employed in exhibitions of architectural archives to activate static relationships between archival content and gallery visitors. It starts with a brief description of the evolving landscape of cultural heritage preservation, emphasising community-driven initiatives and participatory processes in safeguarding architecture. The chapter addresses two key aspects: a reevaluation of the preservation-worthy examples of architecture, particularly focusing on Modern architecture, and the implementation of a workflow to enhance Virtual Reality experiences with archival material and lived experiences of local custodians. It is argued that interacting with multiple types of knowledge through immersion contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of architectural history and facilitates public accessibility. This novel approach aims to enrich traditional documentation methods, presenting a case study that exemplifies the integration of immersive 3D real-time visualisation to convey the multifaceted narratives associated with architectural heritage, enriching more traditional means of representation of architecture, such as drawing, models, photographs and video.
