To realize sustainable lunar exploration, JAXA plans to establish the Lunar Exploration Augmentation and Demonstration (LEAD) Program, which will demonstrate several technologies and carry out what are expected to be astonishing science missions. This paper reports the status of the first-phase missions of the landing demonstration and the Lunar Navigation Satellite System (LNSS) for 2028. A lunar lander and a Lunar Navigation Satellite System (LNSS) demonstration satellite will be inserted into different lunar orbits after separating from a rocket. In this paper, the trajectory design analysis, guidance, and navigation control analysis results are also discussed. In addition, landing dynamics are presented, and mission feasibility is evaluated.
