Students with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBDs) often experience lower levels of academic success compared to other student subgroups, regardless of disability status. However, there is limited understanding of the factors contributing to these poor outcomes. This chapter incorporates an understanding of EBD within the educational landscape of Türkiye, delving into the definition, prevalence rates, laws and regulations, identification and assessment procedures, and available support services. Additionally, placement options, inclusive education practices for students with EBD, and parental involvement focusing on the importance of collaboration among stakeholders are discussed. Finally, recommendations are proposed for a systemic change, including establishing educational policy and legislative efforts, implementation of school-based support systems to enhance inclusive practices, provision of ongoing professional development opportunities for teachers, and advocating for collaboration among stakeholders.
