Sports-Related Injuries to the Common Peroneal Nerve
摘要
Common peroneal nerve (CPN) injuries can be the result of several mechanisms and are the most common nerve lesions of the lower limb. Sports-related knee injuries are frequently associated with multiligament lesions and neurovascular lesions. Complete nerve injuries typically have a worse prognosis than incomplete injuries. Diagnosis should be made clinically and then confirmed with imaging. The mainstay of nonoperative treatment is an orthosis and close observation for interval symptom improvement. In patients with continued functional deficits who fail nonoperative treatment, different surgical options are presented.
