Reprogrammed Devices
摘要
In the last chapter, we looked into how to change the behavior of a device from the outside by adding a computational unit in the path between the host and the device. In this chapter, we lift the restriction whereby the device needs to remain intact. We are not yet adding new hardware into the device—we will do this in the next chapter—but here we use a white box approach in which internal components of the device can be altered, yielding new specialized devices.
