This chapter introduces the internal workings of a typical device. It does so by explaining how commands and data are passed from component to component, from the moment a command arrives at the SSD until the corresponding action is taken against Flash memory. As the chapter’s title suggests, we look at each component’s interfaces rather than the algorithms and techniques they run internally.
