Recurrent Cystitis
摘要
Recurrent cystitis is the proven recurrence of uncomplicated and/or complicated cystitis, with a frequency of at least three episodes/year or two episodes in the last 6 months. It is very common in pre- and post-menopausal women, is accompanied by very distinctive symptoms, and can be triggered by several risk factors such as sexual intercourse, atrophic vaginitis, and functional and anatomical abnormalities of the lower urinary tract. An episode of recurrent cystitis is usually confirmed by urine culture. Treatment and prevention options include behavioral changes, non-antimicrobial, and antimicrobial measures.
