Acrochordons
摘要
Skin problems are common in older adults. Acrochordons, also known as skin tags, fibroepithelial polyps, or fibroma moles, are benign fibrous tumors with predilection to the axillae, groin, and neck. Acrochordons have a high prevalence, reportedly 46% of the general population, increasing in frequency with age, reaching a peak at 50 years. Acrochordons are very common and considered cutaneous markers for risk factors such as age, body mass index (BMI) (expand first time), and metabolic syndrome; they may be familial. Treating the acrochordon with excision and hemostasis is efficient and inexpensive, but carries a minimal risk of infection.
