Geriatric Psoriasis
摘要
“Geriatric psoriasis” provides a thorough and detailed overview of psoriasis in older adults, covering clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment options, and epidemiology. An in-depth review of the immunopathophysiology of psoriasis, focusing on how age-related changes in the skin and immune system, can impact disease presentation and management is presented. The many unique challenges of managing psoriasis in older adults, including comorbidities and increased susceptibility to side effects of systemic medications are discussed. Individualized treatment plans are tailored to age, comorbidities, and other factors. A comprehensive review of available therapies for geriatric psoriasis, including topical, systemic, and biologic therapies, is provided. The chapter is a resource for healthcare providers caring for older adults, providing insights into the challenges in optimizing care for this population.
