Teledermatology is a fast-rising field at nursing homes and provides an opportunity to provide much needed dermatologic consultations for nursing home residents who commonly suffer from skin disorders. The chapter offers several pearls in the process: from preparing for rendering the teledermatology consultation; ensuring that the tools for the process are available; appropriate documentation; understanding the resident including cognitive status and capacity, and obtaining consent for the consultation; and basic tools that are required at the facility for diagnosis and treatment. Working with physician extenders enables the ease of such consultations. The author suggests from his experience the top five skin disorders encountered in nursing home teledermatology.
