The 2019 problem from the International Mathematical Modeling Challenge (IM2C) identified a gap in the preparedness of students to address real-world problems. Namely, to handle problems featuring non-linearity and simultaneity within their constituent equations—making simulation essential for solution. The chapter illustrates how such problems can be addressed using free software that is newly available to all with internet access. Using reference to published material, it can be engaged at three levels, the deepest providing readers with facility to replicate the model. Information processing properties of the software are compared with those of other digital resources such as CAS.
