Open Salvage Surgery
摘要
Reports of open salvage procedures in the urological literature are limited, likely due to the reluctance to discuss complications and associated failures. However the documentation and recognition of predisposing factors will limit further mishaps. While some outcomes are unavoidable due to the condition of the patient, recognition of complications which might otherwise be prevented will benefit both surgeons and patients. This chapter will cover the difficulties urologists and some general surgeons may encounter when dealing with surgical disease of the genitourinary tract. It will also discuss the role of relaparotomy during the postoperative period and techniques for managing these complications.
