Systems Theory
摘要
General system(s) theory (GST) was introduced by von Bertalanffy in 1928, as an amalgamation of several existing systems approaches to study the principles of systems. Systems theory has significantly influenced our understanding of organizational behavior and change, and a systems approach can increase our ability to identify the underlying causes of problems and determine the optimal solution. Systems thinking is the examination of systems from the perspective of the entire system, interrelated subsystems, and repetitive patterns occurring among subsystems. Systems thinking provides a holistic analytical method to analyze how a system’s integral components relate and function over time and within the context of larger systems. Systems thinking is useful for complex or complicated problems that cannot be solved by a single entity, because complex systems cannot be effectively understood from only one perspective.
