Language Learning Analytics in MALL

Mobile technologies have a number of affordances for collecting language learning data that can be analysed to understand patterns and behaviours pertaining to language learning. This entry discusses language learning analytics in MALL environments and outlines different types of learning and learner data that can be collected through emerging mobile technologies such as smart glasses and AI-powered wearable devices. In particular, it discusses how mobile analytics can provide insights into different pedagogical and psychological aspects of language learning, including personalization, self-regulated learning, anxiety, and engagement. It concludes by offering pedagogical implications regarding how the collected data can be used and interpreted to augment language learning experiences.
