Open Partial Horizontal Laryngectomies (OPHLs) represent oncologically safe procedures but can be challenging for the post-operative rehabilitation process. Therefore, an accurate patient selection is crucial in the pre-operative setting. Knowing prognostic factors associated with higher risk for poorer functional outcomes after OPHLs is crucial for clinicians and surgeons. The identification of the most relevant prognostic factors associated with worse functional and clinical recovery outcomes may help defining the best surgical option for each patient, not only from an oncological perspective, but also considering post-operative morbidity and quality of life.
