Rectal Prolapse-Perineal Rectosigmoidectomy
摘要
Rectal prolapse or procidentia is the descent of the rectum in its whole thickness or all of its coats through the anus. The condition tends to occur in the very young and the very old. Although numerous operations have been devised to treat rectal prolapse, none has successfully displaced all others. This case described full-thickness perineal amputation of the rectum. Perineal procedures are associated with fewer complications, but recurrence rates are higher.
