This chapter outlines the standardised mechanical and physical properties of wood-based panel materials in accordance with European standards. The materials discussed include fibreboard, particleboard bonded with organic or inorganic adhesives, oriented strand board (OSB), plywood, laminated veneer lumber (LVL), and solid wood panels. For each material, characteristic values are provided for density and strength in bending, compression, and tension, indicating the relevant directions of each material. Additionally, the creep properties for Service Classes 1, 2, and 3 are presented. The chapter also includes information on equilibrium moisture content, shrinkage values, water vapor resistance, and thermal conductivity for each type of panel material.
