In this Chapter, I argue that to read critically gender-based violence we need to reconsider the logical structure underneath violent events and we should not consider episodes of gender-based violence as accidents of mere occasions related to some psychological disorders of male subjects. On the contrary, in this text I invite to value Bourdieu’s theory on symbolic violence, and in doing so I end up claiming that violence is a polymorphous phenomenon which is never merely physical, or material, neither verbal or psychological; as such, it must be understood, instead, first and foremost as the consequence of a way of thinking, speaking and acting. A Consequence of a symbolic order, in fact, that informs our way of imagining our life in this world.
