Postdigital Visual Methods
摘要
This entry presents the use of visual methods in postdigital research. It describes how postdigital research approaches and visual methodologies overlap through shared theoretical, methodological, and ethical orientations, including transdisciplinarity, reflexivity, and an emancipatory research ethos. The entry outlines how methods such as visual ethnography can be used to explore postdigital visual culture and environments with particular attention to mundane, everyday practices and digital materialities. It also presents participatory visual methods that invite multiple voices and redistribute interpretive authority, and arts-based approaches in which the visual functions as a form of inquiry and knowledge production.
