Climate change is recognized as major issue that negatively impacts the earth’s biological and ecological systems around the world. This study investigates adaptation and coping strategies of rural dwellers in three forest reserves to climate change in Oyo State (Nigeria). A total of 300 respondents were selected from the study sites. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency and mean. Major adaptation strategies to climate change utilized in the study area were planting of early maturing crops, increase irrigation, and use of weather insurance. Thus, afforestation should be encouraged among forest-dependent dwellers in addition to adaptation strategies utilized against climate change and educate farmers on the importance and benefit of weather insurance against financial loss due to climate change effects.
