Popularizing and Assessment of Effectiveness of Educational Video to Improve Maternal Nutrition
摘要
Approximately 50% of the world’s population is affected by maternal and infant malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies, which include premature births, malnutrition based on protein and energy, restricted intrauterine development (IUGR), and chronic energy deficiency in women. Insufficient intake and limited bioavailability of micronutrients are the main drivers of malnutrition among mothers. Additional significant variables that may contribute to the higher rates of maternal mortality in South East Asia and Africa consist of inadequate access to economic resources, decreased chances for elementary schooling, poor sanitation and personal hygiene, unnecessary physical labor, poor diet, and unintentional childbirth. Maternal and child health interventions have an array of health consequences both on present and future generations, and nutrition is an essential component of family planning. In this chapter, an ICT tool developed and popularized to facilitate the awareness regarding the nutritional aspects of maternal aged group for knowledge transfer and behavior modification is the audiovisual tool. The narrative additionally emphasizes the ways in which respondents’ video usage varied. We cover up by emphasizing the importance of observing video as an element of an extensive constellation of creating awareness regarding the nutrition, acknowledging the validity of learners’ requirements in novel applications of video, and comprehending how individuals cultivate knowledge through watching educational content of video and practicing for daily life. Furthermore, the educational video is recommended for running a highly successful nutritional education program to boost awareness of expectant and lactating women’s reproductive health status.
