Maxwell’s Electromagnetism: A Matter of Symmetry

The purpose of this work is to propose that the analogies used by Maxwell respond to a kind of ‘language’ expressed through universal relational patterns, which reveal the ‘symmetriesSymmetry’ that link the fundamental elements that explain electromagnetism. The complementary method used to investigate conceptual relationships was Transcursive LogicTranscursive Logic, which considers concepts from the observer's point of view, thus enabling the possibility of evaluating various analogies as a source of knowledge. These ‘universal patternsUniversal pattern’ are composed, structurally, by a Galois permutation group, and functionally, by a ‘Galois connectionGalois connection’, which allowed the relation of the fundamental equations of Maxwell, thus becoming a valid instrument to explain the phenomenon of electromagnetism and its relationship with light.
