This chapter will consider posthuman zombies not so much as another step in the ongoing evolution of the zombie figure but rather focus on the theoretical implications arising from reading zombie media in the light of a critical posthumanist framework. The chapter will introduce critical posthumanist questions that address the historical dominance of the concept of the human and the ways in which zombie media from different global contexts might be read to challenge this dominant figure through the discussion of human-animal hybridizations and the crossing of species barriers, the introduction of ecological thought in zombie media, and the ways in which zombie texts lend themselves to the discussion of anti-capitalist and decolonial questions.
