Thischapterwill discuss a case study to demonstrate how the geospatial framework can be used to conduct extensive sensitivity analysis. We selected this case study as the soil is one of the three key land attributes on the landscape along with landform and vegetation, as noted in Chap. 7 . There is a complex interrelationship between these three land attributes. This work is based on a MS thesis in environmental science and policy conducted by Ms. Shannon Connelly titled ‘Mapping Soil Moisture at a Regional Scale Using Integrated Remote Sensing, GIS, and Radar Precipitation: A Comparative Study’ under my supervision. In this case study, we will only highlight a small portion of the entire thesis related to sensitivity analysis. Please refer to their full thesis (Connelly 2010) for details. We will start with a brief review of soil moisture.
