Pulmonary embolism (PE), a complex and potentially fatal condition, stands at the forefront of areas where AI can have a significant impact. This chapter provides a basic introduction to AI and delves into the intricate relationship between AI and the management of PE, exploring how these advanced technologies are reshaping the landscape of diagnosis, risk stratification, and treatment strategies. The issue of costs associated with implementation of AI in an institution or healthcare system is also explored.
