The central focus of this chapter is on the pivotal roles community-based organizations (CBOs) played in fostering solidarity, promoting community action, and serving as cornerstones of household socioeconomic resilience during COVID-19, a global pandemic. Via a qualitative review method, it is evident in the chapter that through their diverse activities, these CBOs helped to mitigate the negative socioeconomic impacts of the pandemic on their members. This evidence pinpoints the crucial role they can play in promoting development at the grassroots level. These roles indicate that CBOs serve as platforms for strength in solidarity and are critical in promoting community action as a cornerstone of household socioeconomic resilience during a global pandemic. The chapter concludes that the CBOs played a significant role in helping their members and their households cope with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown.
