ProSocial AI and the POZE Paradigm
摘要
This chapter advances a framework for designing and governing artificial intelligence as a catalyst for social good by integrating ProSocial AI with the POZE paradigm. ProSocial AI is defined by four operational commitments—tailored, trained, tested, and targeted—paired with two design imperatives: activating human agency and resisting addictive interaction loops. POZE contributes a holistic lens across twice-four dimensions: aspirations, emotions, thoughts, and sensations at the individual level, and individuals, communities, countries, and the planet at collective levels, guided by principles of change, connection, continuum, and complementarity. Using this scaffold, the chapter analyzes ethical implications and practical pathways for AI across micro (personal empowerment), meso (community solidarity), macro (institutional and policy design), and meta (planetary stewardship) scales. A detailed climate-resilience illustration shows how ProSocial AI can align localized decision support with national preparation and global cooperation while respecting planetary boundaries. The discussion addresses implementation challenges—power asymmetries, cultural variation, bandwidth and infrastructure constraints, funding models, and impact measurement—and maps opportunities in governance, grassroots innovation, and human-AI collaboration (hybrid intelligence). The contribution is a multidimensional blueprint that reframes AI from a tool of extraction and efficiency into an instrument for equitable capability building and ecological responsibility. By operationalizing agency, inclusivity, transparency, and environmental respect, ProSocial AI, grounded in POZE, offers actionable direction for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers intent on advancing human dignity and sustainable futures.
