Soil and water conservation is the vital component for maintaining ecosystem resilience and ensuring sustainable resource utilization. Soil and water conservation is indispensable for the sustainable utilization of resources and the resilience of ecosystems. By implementing various strategies, such as zero net land degradation (ZNLD, i.e., achievement of land degradation neutrality) targeting through various situational application of scientific methodologies, ecosystem can be made resilient. Applications of soil and water conservation techniques include mechanical and biological methods such as terracing, cover cropping, efficient irrigation, desertification management, and wetland preservation. Through rational applications, considering situational suitability and soil and water conservation practices, the society can protect its soil and water resources, maintain the quality of these resources, and ensure the longevity of its ecosystems. This would be helpful for securing food production from the farming which would be ultimately helpful for ensuring food security. By working together, the community can balance human activities with nature and help protect the planet for the future. This requires action for generating awareness among the masses for application of available soil and water conservation (SWC) technologies in all individual crop fields, though for this purpose SWC-skilled scientific personnel are not sufficiently available to render their services in research, studies, and education. So, to overcome this situation of negligibly available SWC personnel, soil and water conservation as a full-fledged stream of science should be immediately started in all levels of educational institutes, now initially from university level of education.
