Core Muscle Injury
摘要
The core muscles play a central role in athletic performance, stability, and injury prevention, functioning as the body’s transmission system. This chapter redefines the core as an interconnected unit crucial to sports and movement, drawing on examples from elite athletes like Franz Beckenbauer and Mikhail Baryshnikov. Core muscle injuries, often overlooked or misdiagnosed, can lead to imbalances that impact the entire body, affecting extremities, brain coordination, and recovery from injuries such as anterior cruciate ligament tears. The discussion also covers the anatomical and biomechanical interactions of the core with the back, hips, and other physiological systems. Through case studies of professional athletes, the chapter emphasizes the necessity of recognizing, diagnosing, and treating core muscle injuries properly to enhance performance and longevity in sports. The chapter ultimately advocates for a shift in medical and training approaches to better integrate core muscle health into sports medicine and rehabilitation.
