Detection of Human Norovirus and Hepatitis A Virus in Berries
摘要
The protocol described in this chapter focuses on the detection of foodborne viruses, specifically human norovirus and hepatitis A virus in berries. Viruses are eluted from the berries and precipitated using PEG/NaCl. Chloroform-butanol is also used for purification. RNA extraction is based on disruption of the viral capsid using a chaotropic lysis buffer and silica beads to recover the RNA. RT-qPCR is used to detect the viral genome.
